We will perpetuate this outstanding legacy as we move forward with new goals and achievements in mind."

Our unique Introduction to Lawyering, a required first-year course that teaches you to think and perform as a lawyer, is only the beginning. From simulation cases to a competitive Moot Court Program and an award-winning Clinical Legal Studies Program, our "hands-on" curriculum offers the experience you need to build professional skills for a lifetime of career success and achievement."

  • College of St. Rose.  "The College of Saint Rose, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet Albany Province, is accredited fully by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York, the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, the Educational Standards Board of the National Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs, the National Association of Schools of Music, the Council on Social Work Education, and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)."

  • Hudson Valley Community College HVCC.  "Hudson Valley Community College serves approximately 12,000 students each semester, and employs more than 600 full- and part-time faculty members. Currently the second-largest institution of higher learning in the Capital Region of New York State, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs through its four schools: Business; Engineering & Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Although 80 percent of Hudson Valley's students come from the immediate Capital Region, the rest come from every county of New York State and many other states and foreign countries. The college ranks 60th (as of the 2002-03 academic year) nationally in the number of associate degrees awarded annually, and has nearly 60,000 graduates.

Founded in 1953, the college is sponsored by Rensselaer County and is part of the State University of New York system. The college is governed by a 10-member Board of Trustees, which is appointed by the Governor (4), the Rensselaer County Legislature (5), and elected from among the student body (1).

The college is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education and is a member of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. All of Hudson Valley's programs are registered and approved by the New York State Department of Education. In addition, several of the academic programs are accredited by specialized national professional accrediting associations, such as the National League for Nursing, the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology."

  • Maria College.  " In the 45 years since its founding by the Sisters of Mercy, Maria College has become a respected educational resource in the Capital District. While emphasizing traditional classroom and laboratory instruction, it has also been a pioneer in the design of unique degree programs and the development of flexible scheduling options, so that even the non-traditional student - so often excluded from the attainment of educational goals by age, family responsibilities, or work schedules - has come to depend upon the availability of a Maria education.

Perhaps even more reflective of the respect accorded Maria College, however, is that the larger community has come to depend upon the skills and services of its graduates, 80% of whom remain to work in the Greater Capital District. It is said that if you've ever had a parent in a nursing home, or been a patient in a hospital, or enrolled a young child in a nursery school, or needed physical or occupational therapy, or visited a doctor's or lawyer's office, then chances are you have met a Maria graduate. High praise indeed! But with praise comes responsibility. For Maria College, it is the responsibility to continue its commitment to its teaching mission...EDUCATION FOR SERVICE...in order that future needs of the greater community can be anticipated and met as they arise."

  • Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).  "Today’s Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is combining its legacy of leadership in technology-based education with an expanding emphasis on the pursuit of discovery.

From its campuses in Troy, N.Y., and Hartford, Conn., to locations all over the globe, the impact of Rensselaer, its students, faculty and alumni is felt in the way people live, work, and play."

  • Sage College.  "The Sage Colleges is an independent private institution of higher education comprised of three colleges: Russell Sage College, a comprehensive, undergraduate college for women in Troy, NY; Sage College of Albany, a co-educational undergraduate college of applied studies in Albany, NY; and Sage Graduate School, operating on both campuses and offering applied master’s and doctoral degrees. Through the Sage College of Albany’s Sage After Work program, working adults with college credits, or an associate degree can earn their bachelor’s while they work and balance family life."

  • Siena College.  "Siena, a Catholic and Franciscan college, founded in 1937 by seven Franciscan friars, is an independent undergraduate liberal arts college located in Loudonville, New York, a suburban community just outside the state’s capital.

Siena students often benefit from the College’s proximity to Albany, a hub of political and cultural activity and the center of Tech Valley, by acquiring practical internships (and later, careers) in government, the arts, science and business."

  • State University of New York, University at Albany.  "Established in 1844 and designated a University Center of the State University of New York in 1962, the University at Albany's broad mission of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, research and public service engages 17,000 diverse students in nine schools and colleges across 3 campuses.

Located in Albany, NY — New York State's capital — the University is convenient to Boston, New York City and the Adirondacks."

  • Union College.  "Founded in 1795, the first college chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York, Union is an independent, liberal arts college.

Its name reflects the sense of community felt by members of various groups who were instrumental in its founding.

Union offers nearly 1,000 courses in the humanities, the social sciences, the sciences, and engineering - a range that is unusual among America's highly-selective colleges.
