"The mission of the Albany County Young Democrats (ACYD) is to
mobilize young people (age 18-35) to participate in Democratic
campaigns, educational forums and political activism. ACYD is part
of the Young Democrats of America, which is considered to be "the
youth arm" of the Democratic National Committee. ACYD also works
closely with the Albany County Democratic Committee (ACDC) through
local campaigns and Democratic Party initiatives.
ACYD works to get young professionals actively involved in the
political process, help educate voters about issues and candidates,
and work on events of general interest to our membership. We
participate in local, state, and national campaigns. We also host a
number of socials to discuss and exchange ideas about the issues
facing our community."
